FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Home Power magazine still being published?

The final issue of Home Power (#188, Nov/Dec 2018) was published on November 1, 2018. We are no longer publishing new editorial content whether in print or online.

Why did Home Power stop publishing?

In recent years we experienced deep and steady declines in revenue from advertising and subscriptions. We could not afford to publish the high-quality editorial content for which Home Power was known and that our editorial team would be proud to publish.

Can I get a refund for the remainder of my Home Power print or digital subscription?

Of course! Please contact us to request a refund for the value of the remaining issues on your subscription. If you’d like to donate the value of the remaining issues of your subscription to help offset our remaining operational costs, no action is required.

Is Home Power still in business?

In order to process any remaining subscription refund requests and other general business, Home Power will remain in operation through October 2019. During this time, we'll respond to email messages and voicemails from individuals with subscription-related questions.

Is Home Power magazine’s published content still available?

Yes! Home Power’s 31-year digital back issue archive is available in Adobe PDF for free and as published. All you have to do is register to access our full back issue archive at no cost.

Will my previous login information work on this new homepower.com website?

No. You need to create a new account to access Home Power’s digital back issue archive. Information associated with your previous account is not available on the new website.

How long will Home Power’s digital back issue archive be available?

Thanks to the generosity of our readers (You're the best! Seriously.), our plan is to keep Home Power’s online back issue archive available for free in perpetuity—power to the people.

Are you still available to answer technical questions?

No. We no longer have staff available to respond to technical questions.

Do you have a recommendation for a source of information similar to Home Power?

We’re admittedly biased, but we think Home Power’s content was one-of-a-kind. If you’re diligent, great information can be found via online searches. Additionally, we highly recommend that you reach out to qualified, local professionals if you’re interested in purchasing a renewable energy system.

Can I post events, trainings or business listings to Home Power’s new website?

No. We're no longer offering or maintaining directories of this type.

What happened to the individual articles and related comments from Home Power’s old website?

Unfortunately, it was neither practical nor affordable for us to transfer individual article content and reader comments from Home Power’s previous website. Alternatively, we're offering free access to complete magazine issues from Home Power’s 31-year digital back issue archive.
