Solar Energy Technician

SA's portfolio includes: solar canopies, solar ground-mount arrays, rooftop arrays, transparent solar designs, solar power optimization, solar backup generators, mobile solar power systems, as well as electric vehicle service equipment (car charging equipment) and other specialized projects. Our generators have been used for festivals, construction projects, and educational activities throughout the region.

This is a full-time position involving leading teams of installers, electricians and support staff; coordination with other teams, clean driving record, and the ability to learn quickly and work hard. Primary responsibilities include layout and planning, materials verification, code interpretation, rooftop installation, system commissioning/testing, and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will have several years experience in solar and/or electrical/roofing field, verifiable solar installations for a licensed contractor, a powerful work ethic, tolerance for heat and heights, a clean driving and criminal history, and good mechanical sense. An interest in renewable energy and self-driven learning will help the right candidates make a lasting career out of this new field.

Requirements:
- 2+ years experience solar-related installation work
- 5+ years construction and/or electrical experience
- Knowledge of standard safety rules
- Mechanical sense
- Organized and well-spoken a plus
- Clean-cut appearance and good client manners
- Clean driving record and ability to drive box vans
- Pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Flexibility in a wide variety of clients and jobsites
- Basic hand and cordless tools
- Have a reliable vehicle

Preferred:
- Solar training completion
- Solar/NABCEP certification
- Detailed knowledge of solar best practices
- Detailed knowledge of solar components and technology

Wages $18-26/hr DOE, with potential for advancement as skills improve. Vacation and full benefits after 90 days. Employees receive the best health, dental, vision, EAP, and life insurance benefits available.
