Kaplan Turbine

A propeller-type turbine with adjustable blade pitch, allowing flow to be controlled.

Kellums Grip

A "Chinese finger trap" device that offers strain relief to wiring. It is commonly used inside the stub tower of a wind generator to hold the weight of the hanging transmission wires.

Kilowatt-hour

A unit of measurement for energy, the equivalent of using 1,000 watts (or 1 kilowatt) for one hour.

kWh

Kilowatt-hour. A unit of measurement for energy, the equivalent of using 1,000 watts (or 1 kilowatt) for one hour.

kWh/kW/year

A value signifying that for each STC DC kilowatt of PV installed, x number of AC kilowatt-hours of electricity will be generated.
