Please join us for a one day introduction to small wind electric systems workshop at Appalachian State Universities Small Wind Research and Demonstration Site in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. This comprehensive workshop will provide a complete overview of wind resource assessment, wind turbine technology, and installation and maintenance. There will be both classroom and "hands on" activities. The outdoor activities will include a tour of the class 5 small wind research site, the raising and lowering of a small wind turbine, and the inspection of the electrical components and wiring of the small wind electric systems at the site.

The Small Wind Research and Demonstration Site is a unique program that offers first-hand experience with wind power technology. This facility is open to the public to see and hear wind turbines in operation. Tours and workshops are hosted at the facility, which is maintained by ASU students, faculty, and staff.
