Online along with some evening classes: This course introduces students to the basic principles of utility interactive photovoltaic system design. Through classroom instruction and hands on the course will provide the knowledge to conduct site evaluations, perform a financial benefit analysis, prepare a proposal, prepare a basic electrical and mechanical design and select appropriate components such as: PV modules, inverters, racking, wire types, wire sizes and over-current protection, in compliance with the 2011 National Electrical Code. In addition, students will be eligible to take NABCEP's (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Entry Level exam, administered at SLCC, please see our website at the bottom of this page or contact us for more details.

Pre-requisites: Basic Electrical Theory, or Instructor Approval
