Solar hydronic collectors heats both domestic and space heating via radiant floors and a 115gal. storage tank. The homes have one to two feet thick walls and tripane windows. R-values go up to R 70 for walls and roof systems. All homes use ventilation systems with energy recovery. A 1500 Sq. Ft. home built to these standards with a solar hydronic combi system uses only 2400 KW of energy per year for space heating and domestic hot water heat for one person in a climate in Montana with 7400 hdd base 65 deg.
